I don't know how the algorithm thing work on non of these social media platforms, especially this one. If you have loyal readers they will come through and show love. My biggest believe is if you stop then there's nothing new to read they move on somewhere else until you call back on their radar again. Now the loyal loyal will wait until you post again.
Think of it like Katt Williams. He has great shows, took time off, went on Shannon Sharpe show went viral keep himself relevant and boom show on Netflix which was a dud. Which his loyal loyals such as myself still showed love, yet disappointed at his same cadence and delivery. Kind of old now yet it's Katt we'll still get a chuckle or two. As for the loyal or casuals. They'll stop by watch it through and bash it on social media. Then you have those who are fed up with Katt and won't watch at all.
Equate all that I said into medium. We must land on some one publication, go crazy viral, then post something HOT or NOT hot, you either will have a spike in readers or a decline. The spike would be of those who attention you caught, the steady would be your loyal loyal, and the decline would be because the loyal isn't as loyal as we thought.

Me I deal with it year in and year out. This year has been monumental because I reached a thousand followers, I'm ascending via with fans, and loyals. I have yet to attain loyal loyal readers .

I know this is probably saying too much. I just write, if people read they read, they don't they don't. I would love in a perfect world to please all readers with something. Yet, this isn't perfect.
