Teofimo Lopez fought a hard fight that should have been easy for his talent and caliber. That doesn’t disredpect Claggett his opponent. The guy took Teo to deep waters and made him throw and land more punches he’s ever thrown as a pro. Out punching the volume punched. Teo is really HIM and has what it takes to beat a Tank or TBud, will he beat them if they ever faceoff. My opinion, No! Why? Because both guys I named would beat him easily like how he beat Claggett in an not so easy form although Teo had his way versus Claggett for the most part besides being pressured all night by him. Claggett was in his face the entire 12 rounds and Claggett never gave up. Teo’s face wasn’t too battered but you can see he was in a fight with some small swelling around the eyes and possibly cheek one area. Claggett didn’t look too bad either but was eating upper cuts all night, swollen/Bloody nose was his war wound.
Jesse Bam Rodriguez KO’s Fransisco Estrada in the 7th to become WBC Jr Bantamweight champion.
Sonny Edwards wins his fight by Technical Decision when he suffered a gapping gash over his right eye. The cut was incidental and went to the score cards. (90-82, 88-84, 87-85)
Edwards stated that “He left Arizona uglier than he came.”
