Why do people live in the past while in present tense?

Past is the new present, not gift wrapped in a box, still being relevant, just simultaneously stuck in a now than ever, forever never living it down, so it sounds like you are uptight or in a moment to drown your tears in alcohol all night, to keep the balance yet still staggering and fall. Step up to the test of the will and when will you learn to discern each levels you earn, evaluate it and stand firm. Or watch the future totally burn like dry wood, if you could live in the past simultaneously with the present to evade any mistakes that alters your current step, what’s left is a tracer, straight with no chaser, focus with scattered commotion, is like dry skin with no lotion, having at it with the mental purple potion, royalty is where the evolve comes, like that notion. How can you rise when one mind is fixed on the pains of the past, remain caution while putting haters on blast. Cast out the demons holding you down and stand through the whirlwind of muck. How that sound? Easier said than done, done easier when you see red! Just focus on you, “the truth”, a small circle instead.
