Why put “respect” on Devin Haney’s name?
After the dismantling of Regis Prograis on Dec 9th those who ever doubted Devin Haney, me included have to put ALL the Respect in his name.
Devin has shown that he’s a pure boxer with superior ring IQ, skill and some power, now that he’s comfortable at 140.
Devin’s clinic of Regis Prograis has proved that his progression is etching his name to hall of fame status. He’s not done. He has a lot more accolades to accomplish.
I was one that fell prey to the narrative of Devin’s fighting style. Really I know what Devin skills are and what he could do. They say he has pillow hands and I went right along with it. Devin Haney has shown that he has deceptive power. That sneak up and put you on your ass type power.
The only reason I was going for Regis Prograis was because I believed in my soul that Regis would adjust and make up for his mistakes from his last two fights. I thought he, Regis, would be competitive like the preCovid shut down fighter he once was. Regis is on the down side of his once illustrious career.
Haney is on the rise and skies the limit. He could stick around 140 and snag all the belts before moving up to 147. He must fight Teofimo, Rolly and Matias. He will wash Rolly with ease, Teo he will out think him and Matias would be a problem but don’t count out Haney. He’ll find a way. I thought Regis would send him into the deepest depths of deep waters but noooooo. Matias would be that challenge Devin need from a 31 year old power puncher. Don’t count out Devin Haney by no means.
Devin is the Truth indeed and will reign for a very long time. Put more than some respect on his name!
Now a fight with Shakur Stevenson would be big, Devin will use his superior skills to our box him.
A fight with Tank Davis is risky but doable where Haney would out think Tank, as Tank would give precious rounds away in the first half of the fight and rely on his power to finish Haney. But the outstanding coaching of Bill Haney will get Devin through it. Haney can beat Tank by unanimous decision.
Over all Devin is pound for pound and will be the face of boxing.
